Started cutting up the old Krylon MR2. This chassis has seen many engines from a stock 4age to a small port carbed 4ag to a 20v 4AGE and finally a Northstar V8. Ian and I cut the front section of the cage out and test fitted it into the LeMons racer.
I'll just use some 1.75" .120 sleeves to mount it to the back of the main hoop. The Petty bar will mounted the same way. I should have enough tube to mount a dash bar, I want this so I can mount the center net to it.
The drivers side door bars stick out too much for me to have the stock door card on. I'll have to remove this. The race doors are hollowed out, basically just door skins, super lightweight. But for travel we will keep the windowed doors in to keep the elements out of the car, and make it more aero when towing.
I then went to work installing the air cleaner to the 5SFE. This was simple to do. The air filter is it the vent area of the hood and will get nice cool air.
