Cruising eBay and found that www.MR2Guru.com had a 5SFE Fidanza aluminum flywheel for sale. It was used and cheap. $60. Shipping was $20. Total was $80 for those without watch calculators.

From 2010 LeMons MK1 Racecar - MK1.2

Looks like I have a buyer for the Cat. Still awaiting a reply. That should make up the cost of the flywheel. I have a line on a new Exedy stage 1 clutch. That will be a perfect match for this setup. Reliability is what I am looking for.

I havve the brakes sorted out as well. I am using Celica ST165 front calipers with 1987 MR2 rotors, and 1987 rear MR2 calipers and rotors. Pads are Porterfield R4E. Brake lines are Goodridge sponsored and supplied custom units. Goodridge has been good to me since 1989.
New longer wheel studs are also installed. The wheel bearings were replaced on all four corners. Basically what I am doing is pulling the hubs off the purple Mk1 and swapping the whole assemblies since I did these last year.

Still trying to think of a theme for the car. Something Italian would be cool being that the car is mid-engine. But I really think I remember a mid-engine (or was it rear engine?) Skoda sports car from my time at RAF Lakenheath in the early 1980s...

New rules were released this week concerning a few items. The wheel bearings were my big issue. These are now safety related and don't count towards your costs. This is good as my car sat in a farm field for many years.
