It erks me when I see cars driving at night with one headlight.
Yesterday morning my wife noticed that it was really dark as we drove down our road on our way to work. I just blamed it on the new blacktop that was laid recently. This morning I noticed that my right front headlight was burnt out. So that would explain the Lucas like darkness!

Lucas, The Prince of Darkness.
Here is a story that after 20 years is still one of my favorite Satch Carlson stories.

So I had planned on getting my 91 Toyota MR2 wheels aligned and the headlights aligned. I recently replaced my Yo-Boy 17" wheels with uber lightweight 15" BBS wheels. So the shorter size of the rear makes my headlight blind other drivers. I actually liked this since most SUVs tend to blind me as I am .00006" off the ground in my low slung sports car. But, you gotta stay legal.

So now I am going to look at alternative headlights. Maybe some HIDs, or even some non-pop up designs. The lazy eye look may be a good choice as then I can at least keep it stock looking. Pop up headlights are cool, except when it comes to maximizing fuel mileage. They stick up in the air creating unwanted drag to the vehicle. I still get 34MPG with a car that was made in 1990 using a Camry four cylinder engine. This is better than my 2007 Nissan Versa. Go figure...
