Made a new engine cart as all my other ones seem to have engines on them. I should probably insert a few on them into cars that need engines!

Needed to raise the car up higher. Even at this height the engine needs to be snaked into place. It is going to be a bitch to drop the chassis down on the engine without screwing something important up. So I am going to have to remove some of the important stuff like expensive sensors. I will also need to mount the alternator up top as the stock location hits the chassis, plus it would be impossible to swap it out in that location.

Did I mention it was like 9 degrees and windy? Holy-crap was it cold. The kind that just right through you zapping all life out of you!

I also tore down the 1993 N/A axles and did a test fit. Everyone seems to think that the MK2 N/A fit the AW11 with no issues... It is very tight... like I wont be able to get them out tight. But after looking very closely, I believe the hub splines need to be cleaned as there is grease in there, and with the temps so cold it is making it hard to insert the splined shaft. We will see.
Bottom is the MK1 AW11 4AGE shaft outer CV while the top is the 93 SW20 5SFE outer CV.

Here I am just getting an idea how high the chassis has to be to fit the engine under.

Considerably higher. My brother in-law has my big truck jackstands under the 53 Suburban hotrod he is building down at the lower shop. So I am stuck with little jackstands.

My camera ran out of battery due to the cold, so no pictures of chopping and grinding I started. I got the left and right engine mounts cut out, including the battery tray. Once I get the new chassis mounts welded in, I will try and reinstall the battery tray. If I move the battery up front, then I have to spend more money, something the budget does not allow for right now.

Last day of vacation is tomorrow. So I have a lot to do. I want at least to get the engine hanging in the engine bay. Depending on the weather, I might be able to accomplish that.
